ITC Foods unveiled the ‘Sunfeast Hara Banao Environment Fair' at Gandhinagar MCH Grounds, Hyderabad . A total of 43 schools and 1500 students participated in the fair. These students had earlier undertaken a massive signature campaign under the 'Sow a seed today' programme and reached out to over 8 lakh people in and around Hyderabad .
The fair was inaugurated by Smt. T.Indira (Corporator MCH), Mr. S.R.Prem Raj (Director of Sports) and Dr. K Laxman (MLA). The children planted a sapling each to declare the fair open. They also the children did an awareness March around the ground, holding banners and placards with their own slogans for saving the environment. The Fair also showcased projects by the students of various schools on pertinent topics like Rain water harvesting, reducing soil erosion, making the best out of waste etc. Various inter school competitions like - Drawing, Fancy Dress, Extempore, Theme Dance, Street Theatre & Essay Writing were held through the day. Rosary Convent , one of the top schools in Hyderabad , was awarded the Most Environment Friendly School Award for their commitment towards spreading awareness on the environment . Mr. Swaranjeet Sen (DGP and IGP of Andhra Pradesh) graced the occasion with his presence and interaction with the students.
